What makes a Network Marketing opportunity work?

Dave Stone of Network Marketing Today posted an article that points to networking being a big piece of NM Success puzzle.

I agree with this point of view. Especially after having read Rich Schefren’s Manifesto and Missing Chapter which talks about all of the details that it takes to run a business. Meeting new people and networking with other network marketers as well as people outside of the MLM industry allows you to leverage the talents of those individuals against all that you need to get done.

The article talks about the use of forums and has a brief discussion on some of the ways to network online.

The one aspect of networking, in the sense of building a network of friends and business associates, that I feel is left out is a discussion on the networking that can be done face to face.

While it is true that the Internet provides a great way for people that aren’t entirely comfortable with talking to people face to face, I feel that avoiding local means of networking is stopping short of greater potential. Stepping outside of your comfort zone is a large part of what personal growth is, but it also applies to business.

Some of the places to go to meet like-minded people would be Chamber of Commerce meetings, seminars or any kind of business oriented focus groups. These are the types of places that you can find individuals who are success minded. But also the people that can help you, as well as you being able to provide insight for others as well. It is through these types of relationships that your business will find the means to flourish because after all, you are just one person, and you can’t do it all.
