The New Big

Yesterday I had a conference call. YTB, the company I am currently licensed through to build a travel agency online, has conference calls many times a week. My personal favorite call is the one everybody refers to as ‘Coach’s Call’. Coach is a nickname for Lloyd Tomer, and I enjoy his calls because he doesn’t do a call that is filled with hype, geared towards lifting spirits and keeping people involved with the company. No, he earns his nickname every time because he practices it on a daily basis.
The call that I was on yesterday was about finding your strengths and leading with that. Life has a way of throwing so much at us and often its painful memories that result. These memories and other things can set you off balance and he talked about that as well as understanding your strengths. So why am I telling you all this?
Well, for one it helped me to recognize what has been keeping me off balance recently and secondly because I simply find it awesome that there are business leaders out there who get it. Building people up and truly helping them is so important in today’s world.
The best part? Helping people to realize their potential. There is no better feeling than to know you’ve helped someone better their lives because its infectious. They will in turn spread the smiles and good cheer to the people they encounter and so on.
We often tell ourselves that the small efforts that each of us can make don’t really add up to much but that isn’t true.
The example I like to give is taking a penny. For 30 days double it and see what your results are.
A: At the end of 30 days you’ll have a million dollars worth of accumulated pennies.
Small is the new big, indeed.
