Sixty Seconds

"For every minute your remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sixty seconds doesn’t sound like alot of time. It sounds like even less when you state it as a single minute, but when I read this quote I immediately see it a different way.

During our time on this earth each and every one of us has things that we want, things that we are good at and we differ in many ways. But we are alike in one way. We all want peace of mind. Those lost seconds can’t ever be regained and for what a moment of heated anger?

Anger eats away at our happiness and its a poor trade off for peace of mind.

Don’t you agree?

  1. What I tell people is that they have a right to be upset (at whatever) and a right not to be. The question is which right do they want to exercise?
