Passion, Learning and Joyful Jubilant Learning 2006

Jjlearning2006My turn! Today I’m up for the continuing discussion on learning that has been going on all month over at Talking Story. My article Learning to Live Through Learning will be published there so if you haven’t already hop on over there and join in the conversation.

I thought about what I wanted to contribute to the forum and decided on the topic above because it is the most recent lesson that I have learned.

Now, before I go I want to share two of the people in this world that inspire me. Abby and Bradon are two bright spots in my life. They are the son and daughter of my sister and they show me the way of passion and joyful living and learning each and every time I spend time with them. If there is one thing that I hope to share with them it is the knowledge that they should follow their bliss.

I love you both.

  1. Hey Tim,

After reading your post on Rosa’s site,
I had to jump over and check out your
    blog. :)

What an adorable niece and nephew you have.
Thanks for posting a picture of them to see.

I just wrote this morning an post
    called:
How to Grow A Life Long Learner.
    Being the Mom of 3, (ages 24,22 & 10)
I have a bit of experience about
    that to share. :)

Abby and Bradon are young enough
that you have opportunity to share
    with your wisdom.

Be careful not to fall into the trap
of being the Uncle of gifts (things).
ITS NEVER about gifts, in the long
run it’s about time and attention.

    This unconditional love that you
shower them with will rope them
in to respect what you share with them.

    Congrats to you ‘Uncle Tim’.

  2. Debra - They are beautiful aren’t they? :) When I used the word ‘gift’ I hadn’t intended to give that impression so I understand what you mean, thanks for the advice. I look forward to watching them grow and experience things.

And I never would have guessed at the joy and love it inspires to hear those two words. When I visit and Abby’s eyes light up as she points and says Uncle Tim! I melt every time.
