Infinite Bonus: A feature of compensation plans which is said to allow infinite depth.
Infinite Depth: A feature of a compensation plan allowing representatives to receive earnings from deeper levels which would normally be out of their range of pay.
Leader: A top achiever/income earner in a network marketing company.
Leg: A segment within your downline, typically headed by one of the leaders on the first level of your downline.
Level: A vertical position of a distributor in your organization (your position as well). If you personally recruit someone, they are placed on your first level. That individuals recruits are on your second level and so on.
Lukewarm Market: Prospects who are neither in your warm market nor your cold market. For example, this would refer to prospects you have spoken to in the past or someone referred to you by your warm market.
Massive Action: Also referred to as a Blitz, it is a sustained period of prospecting activity.
Matrix: A compensation plan with a limited number of people placed on your first level, usually 2 or 3.
Max Out: A compensation plan is considered to be maxed when you have put enough people in place to move a high level of monthly volume, qualifying you for the maximum level of commissions available.
MLM/Multi-Level Marketing: An alternative term which is interchangeable with network marketing and is sometimes used to distinguish a company whose plan allows distributors to draw on multiple levels of pay.
Momentum: The period of a network marketing companies growth when sales and recruiting begin to compound exponentially.
Network Marketing: A form of selling allowing representatives to recruit other reps and to receive commissions based on their sales.
Organization: The part of your downline which earns you overrides and commissions; and is within your pay range.
Overrides: The commissions you receive from the legs in your organization.
Payout: The percentage of a company’s total revenue which pays out to distributors in the form of overrides, commissions and bonuses.
Personal Group: All distributors in your pay range who you personally sponsored and haven’t broken away.
Pre Launch: A period just before the MLM/network marketing company’s official launch date.
Prospect: A potential customer or recruit.
Prospecting: The active process of seeking customers and recruits for your MLM/network marketing business.
Personal Sales Volume: The volume of product you personally sell in any given month.
