Beyond the Blogesphere

Recently Phil made a request for me to show something of myself, in a photo format, which goes beyond the blog. I decided on some pictures that show some sides of my life that I don’t often show here. I enjoyed sorting through some of my old photos, many of them bringing a smile to my face or sparking a memory.

Beyondblogstream_2 I grew up in the small town country of Southern Minnesota and nearby we had a creek. My friends and I lived there, when we weren’t causing mischief at home. I remember those days fondly.

This picture isn’t a picture of the creek but it is a picture of the one that flows through Owatonna, my current home. I enjoy going for walks down the bike trail that follows it because there are often ducks and other life to be found and enjoyed along the way.

This picture is from back in the far reaches of ‘94. My family -loves- to take pictures when we gather during the holidays and this was no exception. LOL Looking back we always enjoyed making it difficult on my parents, aunts and grandparents for wanting 8 trillion shots each year. Hi Mom!

You’ve heard me talk about Network Marketing and some of the companies that I’ve become affiliated with but I’ve never shared any of the successes. This was sent to me when I obtained my first bonus in YTB. It came with a pin that says ‘comma club’. Signifying my first comma check. I’m pretty sentimental so I scanned the check, printed it and framed it along with this little award sheet.

This picture was taken in Omaha, NE shortly after starting this blog and it’s one of the few I can look at and not cringe. I think its the jacket–I’ve always loved leather jackets.

I’ve actually enjoyed sharing these things and you have learned a thing or two about me.

The plan was to also include a picture of my car, a sky blue ‘90 Cadillac but in the end as the week closed I decided not too. June 1st was my birthday (I’m 32 in case you’re wondering) and shortly before I jumped into my day, an attempt was made to steal that car.

The car seemed to be getting pleasure from being problematic for the last few weeks and just got it started again on that day. Whoever made the attempt failed and the car is fine. In fact, I drove it to work the day the attempt was made.

I mention this because there is always good in every problem. The car was driven just an hour before they tried to take it. It ran for me then but wouldn’t start for them. Seems my car loves me after all. :)

Good can and will come from everything if you let it.

For the last two weeks a construction crew has ben tearing up and rebuilding the road on the block. Fortunately my apartment is on the other side of the building so the commotion doesn’t disturb my beauty sleep.

My final offering is a snapshot of a good sampling of the people I love. Yeah, the trigger happy ones.

This picture is a great example of inward changes manifesting and expressing themselves in our outward appearance and behavior. Taken in 2002, this picture shows me in long hair, shoulders slumped and forced smile. Its quite the contrasting picture compared to the one in the garden above.

Now, who shall I tag… again, showing something of yourself through photos.

  1. Hi Tim!

    Happy Birthday (a little late)!!!

I’m always shy about this whole photo thing, but I did actually put in a couple recently:

And my favorites aren’t of me - they’re from the zoo!

It’s always hard for me to draw the line between being authentic and putting up stuff about myself on my blog!!! Hey - we all need to have hang ups - right!?
