Abundance And Giving And They Flew

Come to the edge, he said.
They said, we are afraid.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came.
He pushed them.
And they flew.

- Apollinaire

A common vain of conversation among marketers and their ebooks,  seminars, blog posts and the like is the spirit of giving information for free. The idea behind these concepts are to entice the visitor to opt-in to a newsletter, purchase a product or something along those lines. Thats all well and good but the core of the idea is often lost.

Robert G. Allen and Mark Victor Hansen speak well to this seemingly elusive core concept. In their words, “Give your time, your approval, your smile, your advice, your wisdom, your compliments, your sense of humor, your talent, your attention, your encouragement, your love. All these things will flow back to you in abundance.”

To me it’s about more than just giving them a free report, ebook or strategy to boost their business. Its about surrendering all of yourself. Giving the part of you which each individual person needs most and all will come back to you in the form of plenty.

  1. I hadn’t read this when I sent the last email.

But Wendy at emoms has an interesting post archive on the “Missing Piece.” I know I have difficulty figuring out if I know enough, or am under delusion, or just not acting; and substituting seeking.

    Thanks for your continued encouragement.

  2. Deb - I was at SOBCon 07 when Miss Wendy spoke. She’s one smart cookie and boy does she have energy!

One suggestion though. I know this is hard for introverts and especially those of us who are analytical but stop trying to ‘figure it out’.

Keep in mind that you’re on a journey and the right decisions, ideas and aha! moments will come to you when you are ready for them.

If you can learn to love the plateau, meaning to enjoy the times when you are absorbing what you’ve just learned, you’ll find that the next spike in learning is so much more fun.
