Network Marketing Journey

My first exposure to Network Marketing was about 2 years ago now and looking back I made the right descision, at the time, to wait. I had spoken to someone about a couple of opportunities that he was currently working on but something didn’t jive, if you know what I mean. Something wasn’t clicking for me so I didn’t get involved. It wasn’t until about 6 months ago that I actually made the decision and then, about a full month after that — the all out commitment to join a company and see it to the end. It wasn’t until I spoke with Tom Long for the first time that everything clicked.

It took me a month of wanting but not really knowing how to make things happen to reach the place where I didn’t feel that I could do it after all. I was ready to quit and I just wasn’t finding the success that I was hoping for but in a last ditch effort I began listening to some Dani Johnson seminars.

Listening to her sparked a decision in me that lite a fire that still burns and the intensity of that fire grows daily. What was that decision? Simply that, “Quitting is NOT an option.”

The months continued to tick by and I still wasn’t finding the grand success that so many like to promise in the network marketing industry but I had come to my decision. I was also armed with two observations that have been crucial to where I am now, and the fact that I -will- reach my goals.

First, it occured to me that the reason I knew the time was right was because of the person that I was speaking to on the other side of that phone line. Tom was real, he cared, and most of all he wanted to help me. He wanted my success as much as he wanted his own and with that in mind I realized that this would be a team effort. That there would be someone to learn from and I wouldn’t be dropped after signing up.

On this count I was right and love Tom for that. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Secondly, I knew that this would take a great deal of effort on my part and that before I could accomplish anything I needed to invest time and work into my very own soul and knowledge base.

Now I am working to achieve those goals, taking each day in stride. I author blogs, articles and hope to help people with the thoughts published in each and every one of them, as much of it is inspired by experience as well as my studies as I go along, continuiing to learn. I have also begun writing an ebook about Network Marketing and the costs involved.

Armed with these two things and the desire to be another person’s Tom, I have done exactly that. So, my question to you is this.. “What moves you?”

[Sidenote:] Below is a excerpt from the book ‘LOVE’ by Leo Buscaglia. In this piece he quotes a man named Zinker who wrote On Public Knowledge and Personal Revelation.

“If a man in the street were to pursue his self, what kind of guiding thoughts would he come up with about changing his existence? He would perhaps discover that his brain is not yet dead, that his body is not dried up, and that no matter where it is right now, he is still the creator of his own destiny. He can change this destiny by taking his one decision to change seriously, by learning more about his mind, by trying out behavior which fills his real need, by carrying out concrete acts rather then conceptualizing about them”

The quote continues on but in this piece you will find the heart. Everyone shapes their existence, their experiences and it is up to them to seize the good and follow it or squander the days they are given and live in mediocrity. This is why I share the thoughts contained in this blog. Because there are many who want change and those of us who are embracing it can share, help and love each other.
