21 Ways to Live Your Best Life Today
Filed under: inspiration, motivation, quotes, self realization, personal growth, weight training
When I first started down this path I didn’t have any idea how I was going to make my dreams a reality. All I was aware of is a deep burning fire, a need for change. Along the way I’ve learned a lot of tid bits and some pretty hefty life lessons which have enhanced my life in ways I can’t even begin to describe.
Today I’m going to list some of those lessons, rapid fire style.
So, lets dig in! Shall we?
Smile More - Smiling is scientifically proven to be linked to your mood. Putting a smile on your face is sure to enhance your day and make it brighter.
Wave - Waving creates a connection between you and the recipient and its a gesture of warmth, a welcome.
Eat better - Better fuel for the engine equates to more energy for the body to function at a higher level.
Sleep - Much like eating, we all need sleep to sustain ourselves and our productivity.
Dream a Lot - When I stopped dreaming about the things I wanted to accomplish in life I effectively told the universe I didn’t have any desires. Therefore, it had no quota to fill.
Be Proactive - Always make conscious decisions regarding your goals and how you will take action to achieve them in this life.
Open Yourself Up - Let people in. Allow change to happen. Through these things you will learn, grow and be blessed.
Make Mistakes - Often! Make as many as you can. I’m serious. Not until you’ve been brave enough to allow yourself the opportunity to fail, will you succeed.
Explore - Dig into self. Do you know who you are? What do you enjoy? Do you take time to enjoy them? When was the last time you tried something new because you were curious about it?
Serve Others - There are few rewards which match the ones recieved when you give onto others.
Adopt Rapid Fire Learning (RFL) - At Joyful Jubilant Learning the contributing authors and readers liked to put this into practice and then we share our learnings each month. Join us. We’d love to have you.
Change Roles - This one hits close to home. By starting a home business in the networking industry I became a leader and mentor to others. It forces you to think in ways you might not otherwise have seen a person, place, thing or lifetime.
Exercise More - Investing this kind of time into your body, coupled with eating and sleeping better will create greater reserves of energy.
Treat Yourself - You work hard. Give yourself a gift from time to time and enjoy it. This doesn’t have to be an expense, simple inexpensive things can often foster a sense of abundance. For example, I recently purchased a few new J-Pop songs for my iPod.
Walk on the Edge - The Slight Edge. Know what you want to accomplish? Then take just one step each and every day towards that goal. Thats the slight edge in a nutshell.
Redirect Your Thoughts - When you feel yourself getting angry, negative or slipping into a funk its best to be armed with things to turn the frown upside down. I often turn my thoughts to my niece and nephew they never fail to bring a smile to my face.
Take Risks - Yes it can be scary but there is little in life worth having which doesn’t come at any kind of risk.
Forgive Yourself - Allow yourself to move on. Leave the baggage where it belongs, in the past.
Be Grateful - Foster the feeling of loving thankfulness.
DECIDE to be Happy - How we feel is much more about how we act upon the circumstances and troubles in life.
Make Better Decisions - Making decisions we can get behind is a process involving our passion, values and taking action.
There you have it!
And this is far from a complete list.
But now I’m curious, do you have any thoughts to share on these OR more to add to the list?
Lets keep the list going and growing and live our best lives!

Tim, this is a great list. Perfect start to my day, thank you.
I’m going to focus on dreaming more. I tend to tell myself to be sensible… like you say, that’s probably not giving the universe a fair chance :-)
Take care

Joanna - Thanks! Dreaming is definitely a great place to start. Starting to dream again is what got me to the point I’m at today and things are getting more and more fun everyday.
Dream big!

Thanks for sharing this list…I like the first 2.
It’s funny cause when we are young we Smile and Wave to people…as we get older we forget to use those expression… like if it was part of society to do so.

Yannis - I know what you mean. Its pretty common for me to go into public and have kids saying hi or waving at me. Its to bad that experience causes us to close ourselves off from that free spirit of giving, isn’t it?
But then again, we have the choice to lit it back out too.

This is a “print out and post by the mirror” kind of list. We all need to reinforce our powers of positive thinking occasionally!

Hi Tim,
It is amazing what a smile and a good morning can do for others. I work in a senior building and teach an exercise class. It was unbelievable to me to see 25 to 35 people who live in the same building come together every morning and not know each others name or say good morning. Now it is a requirement of my class that at the end we turn to our neighbor, smile, introduce themselves (if they do not know each other), slap them a high five and tell them to have a wonderful day. They love it and it starts their day off on a happier note.
Smile and your whole day brightens!

Carol - You’re absolutely right. The power of simply smiling is very profound. Thank you for sharing this and thank you for caring enough to make a difference in the lives of the people you teach.

Hi Tim,
Great Post! 21 ways. My favorite… Forgive Yourself - Allow yourself to move on. Leave the baggage where it belongs, in the past. Tough one to do, but if you don’t, you’re stuck in a rut for a very long time. Keep up the good work!

The Make Mistakes quote is brilliant, so true. Behind every success is a string of failures, and that’s quite alright.
