1000 Ways to Not Make a Lightbulb OR Discovering Personal Genius

He might just have a clue what he’s talking about. You think?
The story of Edison’s lightbulb says he failed 1000 times before having success.
When asked about it, Edison allegedly said, “I have not failed 1,000 times. I have successfully discovered 1,000 ways to NOT make a light bulb.”
(Howz that for positive spin?)
Both time and effort go into doing something extraordinary and there aren’t any short cuts.
To me, personal genius is about compelling value.
Edison’s lightbulb had compelling value.
Einstein’s theories had compelling value.
Ask yourself:
- Do I contribute a value to my organization, team or customers of such value I become remarkable to them?
- What can I do to create ‘compelling value’ in their eyes?
If you can dig up the answer to these questions you’ve struck gold.
